MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF SQUASH SOUTH AFRICA
Every year more than 200 of the top squash players from South Africa and our neighbours get together to play in the Jarvis/Kaplan tournament. It is the culmination of months of training, sacrifice, and hard work. It’s also the most long-standing and prestigious tournament in the country.
Congratulations to all the players on getting selected to represent your provinces or country here. May you make your supporters proud by how you play and how you conduct yourself on and off the court.
There are going to be winners and losers this week. Both outcomes will test your character and that is one of the reasons why we love sport.
Always strive to set an example for the thousands of aspiring players that look up to you, the elite players. Help us build and grow the sport so that someday soon a South African player can represent us at the Olympic Games.
Thank you to JP and his team of organisers that put in endless hours of work to make the tournament a success. Volunteers that contribute for the love of the game are the unseen heroes of the sports community.
Good luck for this week.
Blaar Coetzee
